In 2020, studies have shown that the transportation sector accounted for almost 30% of total U.S. greenhouse gas emissions—an alarming statistic that has prompted a growing number of industry players to reassess their operations through the lens of sustainability. At Biagi Bros, we acknowledge our responsibility in shaping a more eco conscious future and are committed to exploring innovative technologies that can make a difference. Among our recent endeavors towards sustainability, we are proudly partnered with Nikola in a collaboration aimed at piloting their cutting-edge hydrogen fuel cell trucks. This initiative signifies our determined stride toward ushering in a new era of environmentally friendly transportation practices.
Biagi Bros’ strategic collaboration with Nikola represents a significant milestone in our pursuit of sustainability. Through close cooperation with Nikola, we are poised to revolutionize our fleet and contribute to a cleaner environment.
During Biagi Bros first pilot phase, we operated two hydrogen trucks for over three months demonstrating the viability and practicality of this technology. These trials showcased the trucks’ ability to efficiently transport goods while adhering to Biagi Bros’ stringent standards of reliability and performance. Thrilled by the success of the first pilot phase, we are preparing to launch the next stage of the project. In the upcoming 30 to 45 days, we will introduce two additional Nikola hydrogen fuel cell trucks at our Ontario location in Southern California.
Once that pilot is complete with success, we are poised to take delivery of our first batch of 12 to 15 production Hydrogen trucks this November of 2023. This shift from pilot to production represents a significant leap towards a greener logistics landscape, benefiting both the environment and the industry.
